We know that Xiaomi will participate in the MWC2013 exhibition. We have been waiting for the company to launch the next model in the Mi 13 series, dubbed the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Though it should fall behind the Xiaomi 13 Pro in terms of hardware, the camera of this version ought to make it a true cameraphone. Anyway, today, we learned that Xiaomi wouldn’t unleash this handset during this event.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra biggest highlight

The Xiaomi MWC2013 exhibition will be open to the public from February 27th to March 2nd. During this period, Mi fans and people who want to know more about Xiaomi will be able to experience Xiaomi’s new mobile phones, smart home appliances, and many other new products. As for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, it will debut in the first half of this year. The biggest difference between it and the Xiaomi 13 Pro is the extra periscope telephoto lens.

At present, the periscope telephoto lens is the exclusive configuration of the premium flagships. Among them, we can mention the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Ultra, VIVO X90 Pro+, and others. By the way, the iPhone 15 has been rumored to come with a periscope telephoto lens too. The periscope telephoto lens relies on a prism that reflects light at a 90-degree angle to the built-in lens. This makes the lens much longer than a telephoto lens, resulting in better optical zoom.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra

The periscope telephoto lens coupled with the Leica features and the Sony IMX989 1-inch super outsole main camera will make the Xiaomi 13 Ultra a real cameraphone. By the way, the Mi 13 Ultra will come with four 50MP camera sensors. One of them will be the Sony IMX858 CMOS, which will serve as an ultra-wide-angle lens (0.6X). As the primary sensor, the phone will use the one-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, which debuted with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. In addition, the smartphone will receive a telephoto lens with 3- and 5-fold zoom. The phone is expected to support OIS (optical image stabilization) and offer at least 120x digital zoom. So, the camera will consist of 50MP (IMX858 0.6x zoom), 50MP (IMX989), 50MP (IMX858 3x zoom), and 50MP (IMX858 5x zoom) lenses.
