Meizu has been quiet for a long time. This company released its last smartphone several years ago. But when Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship chip, all smartphone manufacturers lashed out at it, saying that there would be phones with that processor in their lineups. Meizu was among them too. Though the first devices powered by that chip are already out, there are still many OEMs that should have their say yet. At the end of 2022, the company held the Meizu Conference 2022, officially announcing that the Meizu 20 would be officially released in the spring of 2023.
Meizu 20 appearance
Now, as the spring of 2023 approaches, we have begun getting some news about the Meizu 20. When saying this, we mean not only the specs but also the appearance.
As you can see in the render and the patent schematics, the Meizu 20 uses a restrained design. The whole machine adopts a right-angle frame + vertical quad-camera arrangement. On the front, it uses a straight screen design with a very narrow frame and a hole in the center.
So we can say that it has an extremely simplified design style, which gives the phone a feeling as if they are dealing with something familiar (the iPhone 14 and the Xiaomi 13 use such a design). Although it is not so stunning at first glance, it is less likely to cause aesthetic fatigue in long-term use.
At the same time, the Meizu 20 also inherits the consistent design style of the Meizu series. The company has been using the ring flash design for nearly 6 years since the Meizu Pro 6 series.
In addition to the appearance, the Meizu 20 series will adopt the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform and come with satellite communication technology. Thus, we are talking about a handset that should sport many mainstream specs in the premium segment.
