Xiaomi’s tablets have always been very popular in the Android tablet niche. Of course, they couldn’t make competition with high-end models such as the iPad. But for those who want a tablet with balanced features, they were excellent options. However, the market began dying in 2019. “Fortunately,” the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns worldwide resurrected many dead segments. The tablet market was among them. Now, this industry has serious problems. That’s why the manufacturers do not hurry to launch new models soon. Xiaomi is no exception. But the rumors about the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro have been on the net for a long time. Today, we learned that both models reached the stage of internal testing. Once passed, they will appear on the shelves.
The family includes two models: the base Xiaomi Pad 6 (internal designation Pipa) and the improved Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro (Liuqin). Both models will receive significant improvements over current generation tablets.
Ahead of the official announcement, Mukul Sharma confirmed that both models had entered their internal testing phase in several European and Eurasian regions. He added that these tablets will be equipped with Snapdragon 8-series chips and could be introduced in the second quarter. Previously, insiders have stated that these models are intended exclusively for the Chinese market.
The base model is rumored to feature the SD 870 chipset, while the higher-end variant is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Both tablets will feature 11- or 12-inch thin-bezel displays, dual rear cameras on the top left, and dual-cell batteries.
The AMOLED screen on the Pro version will have a resolution of 2880 x 1880 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will boast four speakers, NFC compatibility, a keyboard, and stylus support.
