In early June, a Xiaomi-related brand called POCO released the Poco X4 GT and Poco F4 smartphones. Today, following the schedule, the company took wraps off two pocket-friendly M series handsets. The new Poco M5 and Poco M5s come with modest features (Helio G95 and Helio G95, respectively) and low prices.
Poco M5s
To start off with the Poco M5s, this is a bit higher-end model in the new lineup than the vanilla version. It comes with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, which also boasts of peak brightness of 1100nits and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
On the back, this handset carries a 64MP basic camera that is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 118-degree FoV, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the opposite side, we can find a selfie shooter with a 13MP resolution. It’s placed in the hole on the screen.
The Poco M5s sports a 5000mAh battery, which supports 33W wired fast charging. The rest of the noteworthy specs include a Z-axis linear vibration motor, a 3.5mm audio jack, an infrared sensor, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Also, this device is quite good in terms of connectivity, coming with a USB Type-C interface, 4G LTE network support, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band Wi-Fi. Of course, it still runs the customized version of MIUI for Poco.
There are three colorways — Gray, White, and Blue. The lowest storage configuration (4GB + 64GB) comes for €209. Whereas the higher variants cost €229 (4GB + 128GB) and €249 (6GB + 128GB). The Poco M5 will start shipping in Europe via various channels starting September 6.

The storage variants and the battery capacity of this device are identical to the one above. However, the battery supports only 18W charging. Other than that, the Poco M5 sports a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a waterdrop-style notch. This display is described by the following parameters: 500nits typical brightness, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass protection.
In terms of photography, the phone comes with a 50MP primary lens paired with a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has only a 5MP resolution.
The connectivity options are like two drops of water with the phone above. This handset is available in three color variants, including Black, Green, and Yellow. The lower version costs €189, while the other two are priced at €209 and €229.
