The iPhone 16 rear camera module is making headlines with a new design. Some users recently revealed that the camera components of the iPhone 16 will shift back to a vertical arrangement. This change signals a fresh direction in Apple’s design approach.

According to MR, the standard version of the iPhone 16 will feature this vertically arranged camera assembly. Looking at Apple’s history, since entering the full-screen era in 2017, the iPhone X was the first to adopt a vertical camera arrangement. However, unlike the dual-lens modules of that time, the iPhone 16’s vertical arrangement will exhibit a more independent and separated look.

Transitioning to the present, since the iPhone 11 in 2019, the vertically arranged lens design has gradually become mainstream, continuing for two generations. Yet, with the iPhone 13, Apple deviated from the norm and embraced a diagonal design. Interestingly, the iPhone 16 appears to revert to a layout reminiscent of the iPhone 11.

Apple’s decision to go with a vertical camera layout this time might be to introduce the spatial video recording function to the standard version of the iPhone16. This feature will integrate with Apple’s own Vision Pro spatial computing device, providing users with a more immersive experience. However, despite the potential technical innovation, some netizens remain skeptical and question, “How is this different from the iPhone 12?”

Earlier reports hinted that Apple will unveil up to 5 new models this year, including the iPhone 16 SE, SE Plus, 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. Confirmation is still pending on this news. For Apple enthusiasts, this year’s new iPhone lineup is undoubtedly something to look forward to.
