Recently, Xiaomi Automobile announced on its official Weibo that it will host a technology conference themed ” STRIDE” on December 28th at 14:00. This event marks Xiaomi’s first official press conference since the announcement of its entry into the automotive industry. Following this announcement, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared on Weibo that Xiaomi Automobile Technology Conference will focus solely on technology, not product launches. The company plans to launch the first mass-produced model, the Xiaomi SU7, in the first half of 2024.
Tenna Disclosed Xiaomi SU7
Recently, Xiaomi Automobile disclosed numerous details about its first model on the Tenna, revealing that the company named its first model SU7 and introduced three versions: SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max. The new vehicle’s design draws notable similarities to the Porsche Taycan, featuring a sporty sedan profile with a low-slung front end, a closed grille, and matrix LED headlights. Additionally, versions equipped with LiDAR technology are also on offer.
The car’s side profile boasts a sleek, coupe-like design, complete with hidden door handles, exuding a sense of sportiness. A continuous light strip adorns the rear, showcasing the branding “Xiaomi” and “Beijing Xiaomi.” Additionally, an active rear spoiler enhances the car’s features.
In terms of dimensions, the new model measures 4997mm in length, 1963mm in width, and 1440mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. It offers a choice between 19-inch and 20-inch wheels. The Xiaomi SU7 comes with two battery options, with capacities of 101kWh and 73.6kWh. The 101kWh battery offers a CLTC range of 800km and 750km for different models, while the 73.6kWh battery delivers 668km and 628km. The 73.6kWh version is expected to use BYD’s iron-phosphate batteries on a 400V platform, and the 101kWh version will use CATL’s ternary lithium batteries on an 800V platform. In terms of power, the vehicle offers both single and dual-motor options. The single-motor version(SU7) peaks at 220kW, while the dual-motor versions(SU7 Max) reach peak powers of 220kW and 275kW respectively.
