International media Smartprix’s latest report reveals that the Google Pixel 8a targets the affordable mid-range market. It keeps its 6.1-inch body size from the previous generation Pixel 7a. Notably, the frames surrounding the body have transitioned from a more square design to curved frames. Aligning with this year’s Pixel 8 flagship series in appearance style. The phone features a dual-lens camera module on the rear and might come in Gulf blue and rose red, matching the main colors of the Pixel 8.
The available information about specifications and configuration is somewhat limited. It features the third-generation Tensor G3 chip, potentially a downclocked version, operates on the Android 14 operating system, and retains 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Price is expected to be $499.
International media initially provided data, but the specifics remain unconfirmed. For instance, they projected an increase in battery capacity to 4500mAh. It expects 30W fast charging support and an upgrade to WiFi 7 for the network connection standard. Additionally, regarding software support, the Pixel 8a is likely to follow the same pattern as the Pixel 8, offering up to seven years of operating system updates, and security patches.
Google typically unveils mid-range A-series models at its I/O developer conference in the first half of each year. Therefore, we expect the next generation Pixel 8a to debut at the earliest in the first half of 2024.
