On June 4th, Gizcoupon reported that the Indian Express had reported that Indian telecommunications company Reliance Jio is in negotiations with Tesla. It aims to establish a dedicated 5G network for the manufacturing facility of Tesla in India.
The report states that Reliance Jio, led by India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, is in talks with Tesla regarding the establishment of a specialized network. It is noted that further progress will only be made if Tesla ultimately confirms its plans to establish a manufacturing plant in the country. According to insider sources cited in the report, this 5G network would be exclusive to Tesla and not accessible to the public. Currently, the negotiations are still at a very early stage.
The report also mentions that apart from Tesla, Reliance Jio is also engaging with other automotive manufacturers and institutions, such as hospitals, which may require 5G connectivity, to discuss the implementation of dedicated 5G network services. Industry experts point out that a dedicated 5G network will assist these institutions in achieving high-speed communication and increasing the data capacity of enterprise networks.
