On May 14th, Gizcoupon reported that Xiaomi announced the upcoming launch of a new budget smartphone, Redmi A2, in India. It will be available in India on May 19th (Beijing time). Previously, Xiaomi released Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones for the European market. But it has yet to be confirmed whether Redmi A2+ will also be launched in India.
According to Gizcoupon, the Redmi A2 features a 6.52-inch 720×1600 waterdrop display. Moreover, it is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G36 chipset. It comes with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and supports expandable storage. The phone features a rear camera with 8 million pixels and an auxiliary camera, as well as a front-facing 5 million pixel camera for selfies. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support through a microUSB port and comes with a 10W charger and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The preheating interface shows that it supports the Android 13 system (possibly the Go version). However, it does not support the 5G network.

The Redmi A2+ smartphone is almost identical to the Redmi A2 but with an additional feature – a rear fingerprint sensor.
