On May 8th, Gizcoupon reported that Xiaomi India announced on its official Twitter account that it will bring SA 5G network compatibility to Xiaomi 11X, Xiaomi 11X Pro, and Xiaomi 11Lite NE 5G through an OTA upgrade.
Furthermore, Xiaomi stated that the OTA upgrade will also be available for Xiaomi 10, Xiaomi 10i, Xiaomi 10T, and Xiaomi 10T Pro in the future, enabling more Indian mobile users to enjoy uninterrupted 5G connectivity.
As previously reported by Gizcoupon, Xiaomi has collaborated with Indian telecom operator Reliance Jio to introduce standalone (SA) 5G technology to Xiaomi and Redmi 5G devices. The OTA upgrade that supports SA networks is available for users to download, enabling them to seamlessly connect to Reliance Jio’s True 5G (SA) network by simply changing the preferred network type to 5G in the settings of their Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones.

The update will provide users with a “True 5G” experience, offering improved speeds, lower latency, and better overall performance. Additionally, all Xiaomi and Redmi 5G phones also support Airtel 5G (NSA) service.
