Gizcoupon reported on May 6th that according to international technology media 9to5Google, Google would release the Pixel Watch 2 smartwatch later this year, alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones.
As per the report, Google Pixel Watch 2 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip. It is based on a 4nm process. This would provide it with stronger performance and longer battery life.
The Pixel Watch 2 will also run on the all-new Wear OS system. This system will bring more Material You design language improvements and introduce the Dynamic Color feature.
In terms of fitness tracking, the Pixel Watch 2 will also be upgraded with a skin temperature sensor and continuous skin electrical conductivity sensor (cEDA) for stress tracking.

Regarding design, the Pixel Watch 2 may still retain its circular design but with a further reduction in bezel size. The watch strap should also be compatible with the first-generation Pixel Watch.
As wearable technology continues to grow, the release of the Pixel Watch 2 is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts worldwide. The improved performance and fitness tracking features, combined with the new Wear OS system, will undoubtedly make the Pixel Watch 2 a formidable competitor in the smartwatch market. However, the Pixel Watch 2’s expected price has yet to be announced.
