There are also some fantastic upcoming titles to look forward to, including GTA San Andreas VR, Cities VR, Among Us VR, Wands Alliances, Peaky Blinders VR, and Meta’s own Horizon Worlds.

The VR goggles come with up to 256GB of storage, weigh just 503 grams, and have 50 percent more pixels than the original Quest.

It supports hand tracking, and there are peripherals that claim to support full body tracking on the Oculus Quest 2, making it a versatile VR headset.

What else

You don’t necessarily need a PC to run Quest 2 either, but if you want to, you can hook it up and get more of the classic VR experience, especially with support for Steam VR and the plethora of games available there.

If you prefer, you can also connect Quest 2 to your PC or laptop via a wired Link cable or wirelessly via Oculus Air Link. So you can play games like Roblox and also connect it to your phone for easy setup.

If you’re on a budget and want to get the most out of your VR gaming experience, the Valve Index could be the option for you. With powerful sound, a stunning display, and a wide field of view, these VR goggles should give you the immersive experience you’re looking for.

The headset is quite impressive, but it also comes with Knuckle controllers. They are incredibly responsive and should enhance your VR experience.

The Valve Index is also compatible with many games in the SteamVR library, including some VR favorites such as Blade and Sorcery (which also has an excellent selection of mods), Beat Saber, Half-Life: Alyx, and more, including the upcoming Among Us VR, which should be fun.

If you’re a PS4/PS5 user who wants to try out virtual reality gaming, the Sony Playstation VR could be just what you’re looking for.

You’ll be able to experience some great VR games from the PS4 library, such as Fruit Ninja VR and Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, plus some classic titles that offer VR compatibility, such as Skyrim, on PSVR if you prefer to use it with your PS5.

PSVR is far from dead, and even with PSVR 2 on the way, the original VR headset should still have some life left in it. That said, both PSVR 2 and PSVR’s initial specs favor the former.

If you’re a PlayStation user, this is by far your best bet, but that could change when PSVR 2 is released.

It could be backward compatible, and we know it has more powerful specs than the original Sony Playstation VR, as well as a new PSVR 2 controller with haptic feedback, like the PS5’s own powerful DualSense controller.

We’re also expecting some of the best games to come to PlayStation VR2, with Horizon Call Of The Mountain already announced and more rumoured, including Half-Life: Alyx and Gran Turismo 7.

When it comes to resolution, the HTC VIVE Pro 2 is hard to beat. With a stunning 5K display, a 120-degree field of view, and a lightning-fast 120Hz refresh rate, the VR glasses should really bring virtual reality to life.

While this is an excellent VR headset in terms of performance, it does require a good gaming PC to run at maximum capacity. Sadly, the original Vive has been discontinued, but this updated version has many more years of support, so you should be able to play some great games for a long time.

The HTC VIVE Pro 2 is a little pricey, but we think it’s worth every penny.

Another excellent option for us is the Oculus Rift S. The VR glasses have a stunning resolution of 1280 x 1440 pixels per eye, an 80Hz refresh rate and vibrant, lifelike colors, all of which contribute to a lifelike virtual experience.

In terms of comfort, the VR goggles feature an adjustable Halo headband that is specifically designed to stay comfortable during extended gaming sessions.

In the battle between the Rift S and the Quest 2, if you’re looking for an exclusive online VR experience and already have a powerful gaming PC, the Rift S comes out on top.

Although Xbox doesn’t have VR at the moment, thanks to the Oculus Store’s Xbox Streaming app, this VR headset is the only one supported on any of Microsoft’s consoles in the Xbox One, adding to its already versatile capabilities. The use case of adds another dimension.

It’s also compatible with SteamVR games, giving you access to its vast library of VR games.

The Rift S has sadly been discontinued, but with its versatility and power, it’s still a great choice for VR gaming on the PC.
