Having sold 72 million units in a single year, the Redmi Note lineup has been very popular in India. The most recent model went on sale in the country on January 11. It has already made a name for itself. In less than a week, Xiaomi sold a record number of phones totaling a whopping 3 billion Indian rupees ($370 million).
In fact, the Note 12 series has been eagerly anticipated. Xiaomi India’s CMO disclosed that online retailers had received over 8 million searches for the Note 12 models even before the series went on sale.

Xiaomi did not disclose the number of units sold, only the total sales in Indian rupees. But we’d like to know which model was the most popular—the Note 12 or Note 12 Pro. Unfortunately, at this moment, it’s impossible.
Selling points of Redmi Note 12
It comes with a 200MP main camera. Plus, this is the first Redmi Note phone with OIS to be sold in India. So we can say that the Redmi Note 12 Pro is the halo device. Another eye-catcher is the 5,000mAh battery version with 120W wired charging, which charges from 0% to 100% in 19 minutes.
Despite having a strong start, the Note 12 series still has a lot of ground to make up. The Note 10 series sold 2 million units in their first three months of being available. It transfers into 30 billion Indian rupees ($3.7 million)
Mr. Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer at Xiaomi India, said, “The launch of the Redmi Note 12 series has been of extreme importance for us, as with it, we complete eight glorious years of the Redmi Note series in India. We have always strived to bring the best experiences, meaningful upgrades, and aggressive products for our consumers in India, and the same philosophy has been followed for the #SuperNote series.”
