Redmi has become one of those brands that design and produce smartphones with different chips. For instance, today, a Weibo blogger said that Redmi is working on a new phone powered by the Dimensity 9200 chip. It should be released in the first half of this year.
Dimensity 9200 parameters
The Dimensity 9200 is MediaTek’s most powerful 5G chip so far. This chip debuts TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process. It also integrates an octa-core flagship CPU. The power consumption at the peak performance of the CPU is reduced by 25% compared with the previous generation. At the same time, it adopts a new generation of 11-core GPU Immortalis-G715. Its performance is 32% higher than that of the previous generation. CPU’s single-core performance is 12% higher than that of the Dimensity 9000, while the multi-core performance is 10% higher.
In terms of specifications, the Dimensity 9200 is composed of 1 super-large core Cortex X3 at 3.05GHz, 3 large Cortex A715 cores at 2.85GHz, and 4 small Cortex A510 cores at 1.8GHz. The AnTuTu running score exceeded 1.2 million points.
Besides the Dimensity 9200, another highlight of Redmi’s new product is the price. Redmi has always insisted on “high quality and extreme cost performance.” So the new Redmi smartphone coming with the Dimensity 9200 will be a flagship product with extreme cost performance. But we have no clue what it will be called. Maybe it will be a model from the Redmi K60 series. But we shouldn’t rule out the possibility that we are talking about a smartphone from a new lineup. Of course, Redmi has no intentions on entering the premium smartphone market. But its mid-rangers have had no rivals in the niche.
