Earlier this year, VIVO released a foldable smartphone called the VIVO X Fold. The latter was considered a top-notch handset. It was an ideal smartphone by all means. So it’s logical that the company started working on a new model long ago. The VIVO X Fold 2 is scheduled for the next year. Today, we got some info about it.
VIVO X Fold series
The VIVO X Fold is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and comes with 12GB of RAM. There are also four cameras, including a 50-megapixel primary wide-angle lens, dual 8-megapixel telephoto lenses with 5x optical zoom, and another 12-megapixel 2x optical zoom and ultra-wide-angle lens. Apart from this, there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
The VIVO X Fold features a 6.53-inch front display and an 8.03-inch internal display when unfolded. Both support 120Hz refresh rate and use AMOLED materials. The 4,600mAh battery supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

While users were waiting for the next edition in 2023, VIVO unexpectedly launched another foldable phone 5 months after the launch of the first edition. It seems that the VIVO X Fold+ was made to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4. Look, the Chinese company launched the X Fold+ in September, just a month after the launch of the Samsung Fold 4.
The VIVO X Fold+ has already had some upgrades compared to its predecessor. It got a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 80W fast charging, a 4730mAh battery, and additional red color in the lineup. Everything else remained unchanged. In this sense, the upcoming VIVO X Fold 2 is believed to bring more improvements in all aspects.
VIVO X Fold 2 specs
The VIVO X Fold 2 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will come with a Sony IMX866 camera lens. In addition, the smartphone will sport a 2K screen and will have less weight than previous versions of the series. By the way, VIVO will also release a clamshell handset called the VIVO X Flip. Obviously, it will compete with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and OPPO Find N2 Flip. The smartphone will work on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
We are waiting for both models to come in the first half of 2023. This should be around April.
