Qualcomm released the much-talked flagship mobile platform Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 just a few days ago. It uses TSMC’s 4nm process. The phones powered by this SoC will improve performance compared to the previous-gen models.
With the chip’s debut, everyone’s focus has shifted to the question of which brand will launch the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone. Redmi has always been positioned as a cost-effective brand. We guess it will remain on the top of the list again. Today, Redmi’s Lu Weibing has asked a question on Weibo, officially promoting the upcoming Redmi flagship.
Redmi K60 will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 variant
He asked on Weibo which Redmi product comes with the second-gen Snapdragon 8 chip. When looking at the launch rhythm of previous Redmi models, many fans speculated that the first model of the Redmi family is likely to be the brand-new Redmi K60 series. The phone with this chip may still be named K60 Ultra. In addition, the series will still include the K60, K60 Pro, K60 Pro+, and other versions. Thus, it will cover various price ranges from entry-level to high-end.
Before this, we heard that the new Redmi K60’s highest version would come with a 2K straight screen, adopting a punch-hole design. Generally, this series will try to make the 2K screens standard in the segment.
Apart from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, there will be models powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The camera should include a 50-megapixel outsole primary camera. In addition, this series of phones will also provide 67W wired + 30W wireless and 120W wired + 30W wireless fast charging solutions. This is also the first model in the Redmi family that supports wireless charging.
The new Redmi K60 series will meet with you as early as December this year.
