A Xiaomi phone with model number 2210129SG received FCC certification in September. Later, the same device appeared on the Singapore IMDA and European EEC certification platforms. The mysterious Xiaomi smartphone has now appeared in the IMEI database with the name Mi 12 Lite 5G NE.

The Mi 12 Lite 5G NE is expected to be a facelift or tweaked version of the Chinese market-exclusive Mi Civi 2 (model 2209129SC). As our protagonist has managed to appear on various certification websites, there is every reason to think that the Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite 5G NE will be officially out by the end of this month.

Also, from all those documents, we can learn about some features of the handset. For instance, the FCC certification reveals that it has three configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB. Some connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and NFC. The device will likely come pre-installed with the Android 13-based MIUI 13 operating system. Unfortunately, we couldn’t squeeze anything from the IMDA and EEC listings.

However, as we are talking about the international version of the Xiaomi Civi 2, it turns out we know everything about it (of course, if the new model comes with no changes). For instance, the Civi 2 sports a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with curved edges. This panel also offers FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. On the front, we have two 32-megapixel cameras. This is not surprising, as the Civi 2 is a selfie-centric smartphone for females. The rear carries a 50-megapixel main camera, a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

The Mi Civi 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Thus, the international version comes with reduced memory size. Anyway, there should also be a 4500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.

By the way, in July this year, Xiaomi launched the global version of the Xiaomi Mi 12 Lite. The latter was packed with the Snapdragon 778G chip based on the 6nm architecture. Also, it offered a few variants, with 6GB or 8GB of memory and up to 256GB of storage. The phone features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display.
