The POCO brand is famous due to its cost-effective smartphones. However, under this brand, you will find products for various groups of customers. For instance, the X series is for mobile gamers. When combining this with the concept above, we will get the following: the POCO X series offers the most affordable gaming smartphones with the best hardware. Say, the POCO X3 Pro came with the flagship Snapdragon 860 chipset. Plus, it was among the first models to support a 120Hz high refresh rate. However, we can’t say the same for the follow-up model, the POCO X4 Pro. It not only came with a downgraded processor but also made its loyal fans take a step back. POCO is now working on the POCO X5 series. Today, Xiaomiui revealed some information concerning the next-gen POCO X5 5G.
The POCO X5 5G leaked in the MIUI code with a model number “M20“. From the leaked screenshots, we can see that the phone will be launched globally, including in the Chinese and Indian markets. However, for China, it will go on sale under the Redmi brand.
Apart from the model number, the POCO X5 5G’s codename is “redwood.” It will sport a 120Hz refresh rate LCD panel. Thus, it won’t use the more advanced AMOLED material. This is a drawback. But with this move, the company will control the price.
Unfortunately, we won’t find the latest Qualcomm flagship chipset under the hood. Instead, it will sport the Snapdragon 778G+ processor. But this chip has shown off excellent performance on other models.
To understand when it will be out, let’s solve the following rebus with the model number: 22=2022, 10=October, 13-20=M20, and G-I-C=Global, India, and China. Simply put, at the latest, the POCO X5 5G will go on sale at the end of this year.
