Yesterday, a mysterious Xiaomi 5G phone with model number 2210132C passed 3C certification. From the latter, we learned that the handset would come with a charger (model number MDY-14-ED) supporting up to 120W fast charging. We guess this is the forthcoming Xiaomi Mi 13.

Xiaomi Mi 13 is in its final stages

A Chinese leaker agrees with us, saying we are talking about the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone in China. Moreover, there is every reason to think that this is the Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro (codenamed M2) and not the vanilla version.

Xiaomi Mi 13 charging

Earlier today, the same blogger revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 13 Ultra, codenamed M1, has entered the NPI phase. NPI stands for New Product Introduction. It bridges the factory and the research and development (R&D). Simply put, the team introduces the R&D unit to the factory to start production.

In the research and development stage of new products, there are multiple trial production stages. They are EVT (engineering verification test stage), DVT (design verification test stage), and PVT (production verification test stage). The responsibility of NPI is to integrate all the resources of the manufacturing plant, coordinate production management, and schedule and follow up the trial production schedule. Usually, companies want to launch new products as soon as possible. That’s why they will push the factories to complete the process from the board to the chassis assembly within a week or less.

The Ultra will go global

In August of this year, Lei Jun retweeted the Xiaomi Mi 12S Ultra review and said that the next Ultra flagship would be sold internationally. Thus, the Xiaomi Mi 13 Ultra will have a global version and challenge all top-end models on the market.

Well, we know that the Xiaomi Mi 13 series ought to come in November, sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. At the same time, the phone will continue to use the 1-inch super-bottom Sony IMX989 sensor. It should make up for the shortcomings of fast charging and support 100-watt wired fast charging and 50-watt wireless charging.

Other than that, we should see a 2K resolution 120Hz refresh rate curved screen and a ceramic rear panel on the Pro / Ultra version. At the same time, the standard edition will have a 6.36-inch ultra-narrow bezel straight screen. Its resolution could be 1.5K pixels.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
