We already know that Xiaomi will host a new product launch event on September 27. At the conference, the China-based first-tier smartphone makers will release a new smartphone, namely the Xiaomi Civi 2.
It’s already been a few days since the company actively promotes the upcoming device. From the promo teasers, we can see that the rear design of the handset is unique. Plus, there is a special partner, Hello Kitty. The Civi line handsets have been focusing on appearance and selfies. Thus, its target group is females.
Xiaomi Civi 2 camera and more
Today, the company also showed the front of the Xiaomi Civi 2. From the photos, we can see that the new phone still uses the hyperboloid design of the previous generation. Also, the selfie camera module is quite eye-catching. We mean it is the first “pill”-shaped handset launched after the iPhone 14 Pro. Xiaomi also revealed that it would put a 32MP camera lens in the notch. It can capture clear details in low-light environments, bring a larger viewing angle, and accommodate multiple people for shooting.
However, the thing is not only the appearance. Xiaomi claims that this is the strongest front-facing imaging system in its history. The camera can achieve the effect of bionic eyes. Xiaomi Image Brain debuted with the Mi 12 Pro. It took Xiaomi two years to build this system. The engineering team rewrote the entire camera architecture and integrated and reconstructed the software and hardware capabilities to make the camera faster and the filming rate higher. Now, it comes to models from a lower category.
As for the basic camera system on the back, the Xiaomi Civi 2 will sport a flagship module powered by a built-in self-developed imaging brain. The latter ensures faster and better shooting. In terms of hardware, today, Xiaomi revealed that the handset would use the same sensor as the Xiaomi Mi 12, the Sony IMX766. It has a 50MP resolution, a 1/1.56-inch outsole, a single 1.0μm large pixel, and supports full-pixel full-position focusing.
