For a long time, we have been talking about the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra smartphone. In the end, the most powerful camera phone on the globe came our way with the Mi 12S Ultra moniker. Generally, the entire series offers outstanding features. And undoubtedly, it will become one of the best-selling smartphones on the globe. Well, everyone is talking about the camera of the series. But we should also recall that the Mi 12S lineup supports 120W fast charging technology. This is not the fastest charging speed in the smartphone field. But it’s in the first echelon. This doesn’t mean Xiaomi will stop here. The company is reportedly developing higher-power fast charging.
Less than a week after the release of the Xiaomi Mi 12S series, we learned that a new fast-charging head has entered the network, far exceeding the current 120W.
According to @WHYLAB, Xiaomi’s new generation of super flash charging adapter has passed 3C certification.
If you want to better understand what this means, let’s turn to numbers. The 120W fast charging speed allows the phone to fully charge the phone in 10+ minutes. In this regard, 200W fast charging may be able to further compress the time and achieve single-digit charging time within ten minutes.
Of course, 200W fast charging has higher requirements such as battery capacity and chip. So it should be optimized a lot.
It is also worth noting that Xiaomi already has a chip that can support 200W fast charging. When the Surge P1 was released, the company said that it supports 200W wired charging technology and can fully charge a 4000mAh battery in 8 minutes. So all of our assumptions are true.
Unfortunately, there is no phone in the market that supports this technology to date. But we think the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 13 and/or MIX 5 series models will come with it onboard.
