How do I know if the shop really changed my oil?
Quote from cecilrowan on October 15, 2026, 16:03I have a small problem and I feel a bit silly asking, but I really want to know. Last month I took my 2014 Infiniti Q50 for an oil change, and when I got home I started to wonder if they really did it. The car looked the same, the bill was short, and nobody showed me anything. I did not see the old oil or the new filter. My friend laughed and said some places only top up the oil and take full money. My brother said I am thinking too much and that most shops are honest. Now I keep looking at the sticker on the window again and again. The car has about 87,000 km, and I do mostly short trips to work and back. I read a page on last night, and it explained what happens during a change. The old oil comes out, the filter is changed, and the new oil goes in. I never knew the filter was part of it. After that I started looking for Affordable oil change for Infiniti vehicles in Musaffah, because I want a place that is not expensive but also shows me the work. I have some easy questions. Can I check the oil on my own with the stick under the hood? What color should the new oil look like, and how fast does it get dark? Is it okay to ask the worker to show me the old filter and the bottle? Will they feel bad if I ask? Also, how many days or kilometers should I wait before the next change in hot weather? I just want to be careful with my money and my car.
