At the start of 2025, Roborock officially launched the G30 series, a new flagship self-cleaning sweeping and mopping robot. The Roborock G30 introduces a lifting laser radar solution, setting a new standard with its ultra-thin body design of just 7.98cm, upgraded 22,000Pa suction power, and chassis lifting support. It also retains the signature G series feature of 4000 times/min four-zone dual-vibration mopping.

Design

In terms of design, the G30 follows the flat, detail-oriented design language of the G20S Ultra. The all-in-one base station has a more streamlined shape, featuring sleek, flat lines.

The most noticeable change is the color scheme. The base station returns to a pure white body with a frosted silver front, enhanced by sandblasted glass technology, giving it a premium look while minimizing visible dust.

Another design improvement is the hidden water tank, accessible by simply lifting the top cover. Additionally, the dust box cover has been upgraded from a traditional snap-on style to a more convenient magnetic press-type cover.

In the dust box cover, the Roborock G30 comes with a nicely hidden compartment, where a 2.5L disposable dust bag and the antibacterial cleaning liquid box are sitting. For an average family, this means replacing dust bags about six times a year. The dust bag features E12-grade filter material with full-link antibacterial.

Though the G30’s main body is still predominantly black, its subtle light gray textures help reduce the black mirror effect, making dust less noticeable.

Equipped with a lifting laser radar (LDS), the Roborock G30 can lower its height to just 7.98cm, allowing it to access low spaces like beneath beds and sofas, significantly increasing the cleaning coverage across the entire home.

The G30 is also designed with a rear window, which helps maintain accurate positioning of the LDS after it lowers, preventing the loss of mapping data. This rear window expands the robot’s field of view in low-profile areas. Additionally, the top of the G30 has a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor that intelligently measures the height of furniture, lowering the LDS in advance to prevent collisions and damage.

How good is it?

The Roborock G30 features an advanced three-line structured light system, which enhances obstacle avoidance by adding a lateral laser for improved recognition accuracy and the ability to avoid small objects on the ground. This wider field of view improves environmental awareness and makes obstacle detection more efficient. Additionally, the G30 includes a vertical laser edge sensor, allowing it to closely track wall contours for precise cleaning around complex edges like data cables or chair legs.

For enhanced obstacle identification, the G30’s “window” features an RGB camera and a fill light, capable of recognizing up to 108 common ground obstacles and adjusting its obstacle avoidance strategy accordingly. This makes the cleaning process more tailored to different types of obstacles.

Top buttons have been updated to touch-sensitive controls, and when the LDS watchtower lowers and hides itself, the top becomes completely flat for a better continuity. This gap between components holds a strip of hidden LEDs that change flow and color based on the operating status of the robot.

The bottom of the G30 has a two-stage rubber-bristle integrated main brush and a longer spiral arc side brush, attached to a robotic arm structure. This arm extends when the robot detects corners, which makes it quite thorough in cleaning wall edges. In addition, the flat mop has small round handles on one side for easy use.

Cleaning performance

All the key parts of the G30, including the main brush, side brush, mop, and small round handle, are equipped with intelligent height adjustment, which can reach up to 4cm in obstacle clearance, while the industry standard is only 2cm. The side brush can also extend and retract between 2 and 4cm to ensure complete cleaning coverage along edges and corners, eliminating any dead spots.

The Roborock G30 is designed to handle hair more effectively with its 45° inclined rubber-bristle main brush and widened soft rubber blades. The V-shaped spiral design directs hair towards the center of the brush, making it easier to collect larger particles and avoid tangling. The double cantilever design shortens the path for hair and debris to converge at the center, where the coaxial differential design further tears and removes hair from the main brush, making it easier for the vacuum to inhale.

Furthermore, the G30’s universal wheels feature an anti-entanglement design, preventing hair from tangling around the wheels and minimizing maintenance. It also has an external brush to help clean out remaining hair from the wheels.

Mopping

Roborock G30 retains the G series signature flat mop cloth, using a four-zone dual-vibration mopping system, upgraded to vibrate 4000 times per minute. The high-frequency sonic vibration simulates the pressure of a toothbrush, applying up to 8N of force under the cloth to effectively break down stubborn stains.

For added convenience, the flat mop now supports automatic disassembly and installation. When cleaning tasks involve sweeping floors or carpets first, the system automatically detaches the mop and keeps it in the base station, ensuring hassle-free transitions.

The small round handle, also upgraded to a diameter of 49mm, can automatically rise and fall when detecting table or chair legs. This feature allows the edge mop to press down with up to 8N of force, cleaning edges and tight corners more thoroughly without leaving any dead spots.

What makes it special

The Roborock G30 features an advanced all-round self-cleaning base station that offers multiple automated functions, such as 80-degree hot water sterilization, UVC sterilization, automatic antibacterial and deodorization, dust collection, water replenishment, and mop drying. It incorporates full-link antibacterial technology, which includes an antibacterial silver ion mop and antibacterial cleaning liquid. This technology inhibits bacteria on the floor, mop, and sewage tank, ensuring a hygienic cleaning process.

On the intelligent interaction side, the G30 features Roborock’s proprietary GPT intelligent interaction model. This model can understand ambiguous and complex commands, making the user experience more seamless. The built-in smart assistant app provides real-time assistance with prompts for questions or product issues, offering voice-based tutorials and after-sales troubleshooting. Additionally, the voice interaction feature supports multiple languages, including Cantonese and Sichuan dialects.

The Roborock G30 also comes with a special pet mode, offering pet area-focused cleaning, one-click pet search, and pet snapshot functions. The real-time video function allows the robot to patrol the house on schedule or at designated points on the map, providing added convenience for pet owners or those who want remote monitoring capabilities.
