Sony released the Xperia 1 V on May 11th last year. According to the latest updates, the Japanese company plans to continue with almost the same release rhythm in 2024. Weibo user @zackbuks exposed a poster indicating Sony’s upcoming Xperia product launch event scheduled for May 17th. The poster itself didn’t reveal which specific phone would take the spotlight at the event. However, recent mentions frequently highlight the Sony Xperia 1 VI, suggesting it might be one of the models, or the only one.
This blogger previously hinted that the Xperia 1 VI will depart from its predecessors by abandoning the 4K screen and the 21:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio, opting for a solution more in line with industry standards. Consequently, the Xperia 1 VI will likely be slightly wider. Moreover, the new device will retain the same rear camera module as the Xperia 1 V, with improvements achieved solely through software processing, potentially integrating some AI functions.
Moreover, it is anticipated that the Sony Xperia 1 VI will operate on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, with a minimum of 12GB of RAM being paired with it.
