Late at night, Huawei has been preparing new products. The company officially announced the Huawei Smart Screen S5 and Huawei Smart Door Lock Plus. At 10:08 this morning, the Huawei Smart Screen S5 started its pre-sale on Huawei Mall and at authorized retailers.
The new Honghu self-developed chip, the Honghu 868, powers the smart screen. This chip utilizes a 4-core CPU architecture with 2 Cortex A73 and 2 Cortex A53 CPUs. Operating at a main frequency of 1.28GHz, it ensures faster operation. Additionally, it supports 4K 120 FPS ultra-high definition decoding. Additionally, it comes with a large storage capacity of 3GB+64GB.
The Huawei Smart Screen S5 boasts an LCD screen with a 98.12% screen-to-body ratio. It displays 1.07 billion colors at a resolution of 3840×2160. The screen supports a 60Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it can increase to 144Hz through frequency multiplication technology. Huawei has confirmed this high refresh experience. They confirmed it specifically when the screen is connected to an external PC or game console input.
The smart screen supports 4K super projection on HarmonyOS 4.2. Moreover, it enables 4K high-definition projection without prior app installation when casting through platforms like Bilibili, Youku Video, and Tencent Video. Officials state that the screen-casting function maintains a lag-free and continuous connection for up to 3 hours.
Featuring a wired AI camera with a large aperture of 2.0, the smart screen supports various smart functions including children’s sitting distance reminder and AR fun activities. In terms of interfaces, Huawei Smart Screen S5 includes built-in HDMI 2.1×1, HDMI 2.0×1, AV In×1, USB 3.0×1, USB 2.0×1, RJ45×1, and DTMB×1 interfaces. Equipped with 2 full-range units and 2 high-frequency unit speakers, the smart screen also supports WLAN, DLNA, and Bluetooth 5.1.
This smart screen comes in three sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch, priced at 3,499 yuan (about $480), 4,299 yuan (about $595), and 5,799 yuan (about $800) respectively.
