March 3, 2024

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G underwent a recent review on the YouTube channel, with a focus on testing the performance of Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 processor. The overall performance was compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, released three years ago.

Manufactured using Samsung’s 4-nanometer (4LPP) process, the Exynos 1480 boasts an eight-core configuration. It includes four Cortex-A78 with a main frequency of 2.75GHz and four Cortex-A55 with a main frequency of 2.05GHz.

On Geekbench 6, It has achieved a single-core score of 1161, marking an 18.5% improvement over its predecessor. The multi-core total score reached 3398, reflecting a 22.7% increase and showcasing an overall impressive performance.

In the Antutu benchmark, the Exynos 1480 scored 713,993, indicating a 20.4% improvement over the previous generation. Notably, after a 15-minute CPU throttling test, the Exynos 1480 demonstrated stable temperatures without sudden drops.

In terms of the graphics processor, the A55 utilizes the Samsung Xclipse 530 graphics processor based on the RDNA 2 architecture. Notably, this GPU’s performance is superior to the A54’s Mali-G68. In Geekbench 6 GPU computing scores, the Xclipse 530 showed a significant 31.4% improvement over the Mali-G68.
