The “budget-friendly” iPhone series from Apple may be making a comeback soon. Reports suggest that Apple is currently developing a brand-new iPhone SE model, codenamed iPhone SE 4, with expectations that it will bring significant design changes. The tech website 91mobiles has obtained the CAD renders of this model.

In the past, iPhone SE models followed the design of older iPhones with a physical Home button. However, this time, Apple seems to be intentionally making a change. According to industry insiders who provided the CAD renders, it is confirmed that the iPhone SE 4 will feature a 6.1-inch display, a significant upgrade from the 4.7-inch screen on the iPhone SE 5G with a Home button.

The CAD renders also reveal that the iPhone SE 4 will adopt a notch design similar to the iPhone 13/14 series and will come equipped with Face ID facial recognition technology. As for the rear camera, this model will continue with the single-camera setup from its predecessor.

The dimensions of the device are 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7mm, similar to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. This supports a report from MacRumors last year, suggesting that the iPhone SE4 might feature a physical Action button (not confirmable from the renders) and a USB-C port.

Apple plans to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE in 2025, but there’s a chance it might make its debut alongside the iPhone 16 series at this year’s fall Apple event. While analysts anticipate the iPhone 16 series to be a relatively standard upgrade, the introduction of an affordable model could potentially boost sales in developing countries.
