Realme officially announced the release of the Realme 12 Pro series of in the Chinese market at 14:00 on February 27, labeling it a “mid-range disruptor.”
Display
Both Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro + have a 6.7-inch OLED center-punch curved display with a resolution of 2412×1080. The display supports 120Hz refresh rate, 100% P3 color gamut coverage, and a peak brightness of 950 nits. It also supports Wet hand touch, 2000Hz gaming-grade touch, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and high-brightness DC dimming.
Hardware
Regarding performance, the Realme 12 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, offering storage versions of 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro + comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, available in 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB storage options. Both phones include a 5000mAh battery and support 67W fast charging, claiming an 80% charge in just half an hour. Operating on the realme UI 5.0 system based on Android 14.
Camera and Other Features
The Realme 12 Pro features a rear camera module with a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary lens, a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera is 16MP. Meanwhile, the 12 Pro + has a 50MP Sony IMX890 main lens, a 32MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, with a 32MP front camera. The Realme 12 Pro+ periscope telephoto lens uses the OmniVision OV64B sensor, a 64-megapixel outsole sensor supporting 3X optical zoom, 6X lossless zoom, and 120X ultra-telephoto zoom.
Moreover, the Realme 12 Pro series mobile phones feature the same ultra-light and shadow engine as the Realme GT5 Pro, enhancing dynamic range, color restoration, and noise reduction. Collaborating with Academy Award winner Claudio Miranda, the phones come with customized Top Gun 3 movie master filters: Rewind Life and Young Adventures.
Equipped with under-screen optical fingerprints, the series features an “all-round sensing enhanced version of NFC” and a “full-speed matrix antenna system,” supporting Wi-Fi 6. Additionally, the phones come with dual stereo speakers and an X-axis linear motor, known as “acoustic motor two-in-one.”
Pricing
Realme 12 Pro is currently available in China Telecom’s terminal product library, with the 8GB+256GB version priced at 1,799 yuan ($249) and the 12GB+512GB version at 2,399 yuan ($333). The Realme 12 Pro+ offers the 8GB+256GB version at 1,899 yuan ($265), the 12GB+256GB version at 2,099 yuan ($290), and the 12GB+512GB version at 2,299 yuan ($319).
