Design

Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts the “Xiaomi Dragon Armor Architecture,” featuring a high-strength aluminum alloy middle frame, CNC one-piece molding, and a 100% increase in bending resistance. The Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass screen exhibits 10 times the drop resistance, and the new Kona leather material is 6 times more wear-resistant, less prone to yellowing, and more resistant to dirt. Compared to the previous generation, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s overall ID design has undergone subtle changes. The internal arrangement of the lens module remains consistent, but nuanced details contribute to a simpler aesthetic.

For instance, a high-gloss Deco metal ring surrounds the module, and a gold edge connects with the lens module. The outer ring of the lens module cover displays a delicate grid pattern. In the lens module area, the plain leather part extends in a “crater” shape, adding visual layers to the entire lens module and reducing its protrusion. Another notable change is the return of a flat design for the back panel of the Xiaomi Mi 14 Ultra, eliminating the convex upper part and providing more concise body lines.

The screen form has evolved into a four-curved design with equal depth, resembling a straight screen. The curvature of the curved screens on both sides has significantly diminished compared to the previous generation, resulting in a nearly identical look and feel to the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The flat-depth four-curved screen strikes a balance between a straight screen’s appearance and a curved screen’s feel, creating a visually striking effect when the screen is active.

Display

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts an independent earpiece unit at the top, delivering directional sound. Additionally, the screen specifications showcase a 6.73-inch display featuring a 120Hz VRR variable refresh rate, 3200*1440 resolution, HDR10+ support, and a maximum brightness of 3000 nits. Furthermore, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra employs the “third-generation Konapei,” providing improved wear resistance and a tactile plain leather feel similar to genuine leather. Adding a distinctive touch, the mid-frame flip-up design evokes the classic Leica M camera.

This flagship smartphone supports IP68 dust-proof and waterproof capabilities, with dimensions of 161.4×75.3×9.2mm and a weight of 220 grams – a 7g reduction from the previous generation. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra focuses on an “image-driven design,” with enhancements becoming more apparent when paired with the imaging package. The photography kit includes a technological nano-leather protective case, a wireless photography handle, and a lanyard. The wireless photography handle, featuring a customizable dial wheel and button, simplifies operations with a USB-C interface.
