Foreign technology media 9to5mac reports that Apple has started planning the iPad product line for 2024. In this plan, they aim to expand the size of the iPad Air and introduce a thinner and lighter iPad Pro. This move has caught the attention of the industry.
Apple is actively developing two new products, codenamed J507 and J537. These two products differ in size, with one maintaining a design similar to the current iPad Air, while the other will feature a larger display. If this news is accurate, it will mark the first time Apple has launched two different sizes of iPad Air in the same series. Notably, we expect the larger iPad Air to have a size comparable to the existing 12.9-inch iPad Pro, providing users with more choices. Meanwhile, we anticipate optimizing details for the smaller iPad Air, with minimal overall design changes.
The new iPad Pro 2024 promises even more performance. Apple aims to narrow the device’s bezels further, increasing the screen-to-body ratio and reducing overall thickness. This improvement is primarily attributed to the rumored use of OLED displays. Unlike traditional LCDs, OLED’s less hierarchical structure enables a thinner and lighter design. Apple has adjusted the size of the new iPad Pro, slightly increasing the dimensions of the 11-inch version and making the 12.9-inch version slightly thinner while maintaining a similar size.
Apple iPad 2024 Sizes:
- 11″ Inch Pro model measures 249.7 mm x 177.5 mm x 5.1 mm.
- 12.9″ Inch Pro model measures 281.5 mm x 215.5 mm x 5.0 mm.
While there is currently no clear news about the specific release date of the new iPad, some accessory manufacturers have already increased the production of protective cases, expecting to start shipping as early as next month. Additionally, Bloomberg previously stated that Apple plans to launch a new iPad product line at the end of March, likely simultaneously with a new MacBook. This series of new product launches will undoubtedly enhance Apple’s product lineup and provide users with a better overall experience.
