Apple Vision Pro headset hit the shelves just two days ago. The initial group of buyers wasted no time exploring its mixed reality (MR) features. They’ve taken to the streets, donning the Vision Pro for various reasons, be it navigating traffic or flaunting its cool factor.
However, practical usage revealed a limitation – the Vision Pro headset can’t be used while walking. Luke Miani, a netizen, highlighted in his video that attempting to use the headset on the go causes open applications to remain stationary, failing to track body movement. Even the intended travel mode, designed for use during flights, proves ineffective. Enabling it results in a tracking failure message, rendering it unusable. In essence, Vision Pro users need to come to a halt to utilize the applications.
This limitation is not surprising since Vision Pro wasn’t crafted for mobile use. Moreover, using the headset while in motion poses significant safety risks.
Users who’ve tried Vision Pro on an airplane, however, share a different experience. The travel mode application window stays fixed and functions seamlessly. It’s worth noting that Meta is also in the process of developing a travel mode for the Quest headset.
