According to Gurman and others, Apple is set to unveil iOS 18 with heavyweight AI features at this year’s WWDC in June. In the first beta of iOS 17.4, 9to5Mac discovered that Apple has started testing its AI features, like the new Siri voice assistant. The code suggests Apple is comparing the results internally with ChatGPT.

Moving forward, the iOS 17.4 Beta code reveals a new framework called SiriSummarization, which utilizes the ChatGPT API. Furthermore, Apple has incorporated multiple prompts for the SiriSummarization framework in iOS17.4, such as “Please summarize…” and “Please answer (this question),” enhancing its functionality.

Additionally, iOS 17.4 system prompts suggest handling input in the form of iMessage or SMS. Bloomberg has previously reported on Apple developing an AI-integrated Messages app capable of automatically answering questions and completing sentences.

These include action type, action value, action value type, and confidence score. Possible action types encompass MessageReply, GetDirection, Call, SaveContact, Remind, MessageContact, and None. Action value types include a message, address, phone number, contact, and reminder. Confidence scores range from 0 to 1, representing confidence in the suggested action.
