BYD has introduced its third model in the Yangwang series, the million-level new energy flagship sedan Yangwang U7, joining the ranks of the hard-core luxury off-road Yangwang U8 and the pure electric performance supercar.
Before, people often uncovered road test videos of the car, but lately, leaked undisguised photos of the vehicle on the street from various angles have surfaced. Xinxing’s editor-in-chief @武英suansuinian shared insights on Weibo after personally encountering the U7 at a specific location. He noted several observations:
Firstly, the U7 exudes a level of domineering presence comparable to encountering a “BBA flagship car” nearby. Secondly, the color matching is meticulously chosen and has a glossy surface with a robust texture.
Thirdly, the mass-produced wheels not only minimize wind resistance but also feature a classic design paying homage to a century-old starting point in the automobile industry. Additionally, upon seeing the actual car, one perceives a front face rich in technology and appreciates the simplicity in the lines at the tail.
Revelations about the U7 include its front design adopting the “Gateway of Time and Space” family language, sharing the headlight design with the U9, and a light group interior with a consistent strip texture for a visually sharp effect. The U7, measuring 5265x1998x1517mm in body size with a 3160mm wheelbase, packs over a thousand horsepower and features Yi Sifang technology.
Notably, the U7 has earned certification from the China Automotive Industry Association as a C-STAA model, boasting a world-record low wind resistance of only 0.195Cd for a mass-produced car.
