Samsung has unveiled the world’s first transparent MicroLED monitor at CES 2024. This announcement marks a significant milestone in the tech industry.

At the CES showcase, Samsung revealed Three types of MicroLED monitors with different transparency. Two feature tinted glass, minimizing the visibility of objects behind them. The third design is as clear as standard glass and boasts a frameless look. The monitor’s visual impact is stunning, resembling a hologram floating in mid-air, thanks to the high pixel density of the MicroLEDs which ensures crystal-clear images.
Samsung representatives highlight that these monitors outshine traditional transparent OLED panels in brightness, making them less susceptible to ambient light. This advancement promises exciting future display technology applications. However, affordability remains a challenge. Reports suggest the 110-inch non-transparent MicroLED TV costs around $140,000, indicating mass market adoption may be some way off.
