OnePlus unveiled its new Ace series product, the OnePlus Ace 3 on January 4, with a starting price of 2,599 yuan (about $367). During the launch event, OnePlus also introduced the OnePlus Buds 3 and an all-inclusive protective case for the OnePlus Ace 3.
Design
Elevating the standards of phone craftsmanship, the OnePlus Ace 3 features a rare flagship-grade metal middle frame. Its 3D curved surface design undergoes meticulous detailing, with a fine cutting process using a single-crystal diamond knife and watch-grade cloth wheel polishing. The application of 0.04mm zirconium sand in precision sandblasting imparts a flagship-level frosted metal texture, enhancing the tactile experience.
The device’s new glass technology takes inspiration from natural elements like the sky and ocean, resulting in creatively polished colors like Sand Gold, Star Black, and Moon Sea Blue. These colors merge metallic shimmer with the clarity of glass, achieving a romantic and elegant aesthetic.
Screen
The OnePlus Ace 3 features a 1.5K Oriental screen. It follows the 2K Oriental screen of the OnePlus 12, focusing on display quality and eye protection. The screen incorporates the flagship features of the OnePlus 12 and competes with similar products in the market. It includes a self-developed image quality engine, OPPO’s first-generation Display P1 chip, and algorithm optimization. The screen has a peak brightness of 4500nit and a lifespan that is twice the industry average. Regarding clarity and color accuracy, it is the first 1.5K screen to receive DisplayMate A+ certification and has set 18 records in the industry.
The OnePlus Ace 3 screen features “Bright Eyes Eye Protection,” which uses custom hardware and proprietary technologies to minimize flicker and harmful blue light. This technology maintains full brightness while providing comprehensive eye health care, earning certifications from Rheinland and the National Ophthalmic Diagnosis and Treatment Engineering Technology Research Center. Additionally, the device has a rare LTPO screen in its class, with its industry-leading 8T LTPO circuit design optimizing the benefits of LTPO technology. Compared to LTPS screens, it offers smoother performance, reduced power consumption, and enhanced battery life.
Hardware
OnePlus Ace 3 sets a performance benchmark with top hardware, tuning, and heat dissipation. Equipped with the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, LPDDR5X, and UFS 4.0, it achieves a running score of over 1.74 million. Leading in large memory configurations, the series starts with 12GB and offers up to 16GB memory + 1TB storage. It maintains 34 commonly used apps alive for 72 hours and has earned the South German 48-month A-level smoothness certification.
The device features five unique Qualcomm optimizations, ensuring peak performance and long-term stability. Firstly, the “Microarchitectural Supercomputing Engine” melds high performance with low power use. Secondly, “Memory Gene Reorganization 2.0” has app startup speeds and background efficiency. The OnePlus Ace 3 employs the aerospace-grade “Tiangong Cooling System Pro,” similar to the flagship model. This system includes a 9140mm² 10,000-grade single VC. Finally, the advanced thermal material and space-cooling structure extensively dissipate heat, ensuring consistent performance.
The device revolutionizes mobile gaming with three major game technologies. A dedicated graphics chip, along with the new “Game Frame Stabilization Engine,” “Super Frame Super Picture Engine,” and “Lingxi Touch,” enhance graphics rendering efficiency. This enables 120-frame and 1.5K super-resolution in all games, providing smooth, clear, and stable gaming quality.
Deepening its strategic cooperation with Genshin Impact, the Ace 3 becomes the Android test machine for the game’s new version. It introduces GSS game status communication technology, optimizing frame rate, power consumption, image quality, network background, and loading speed. This results in a superior “Genshin Impact” performance, with an average frame rate of 59.3 frames over 2-hour daily runs and reduced power consumption. OnePlus will also release a Genshin Impact custom machine on February 28.
Cameras
Featuring the Sony IMX890 flagship main camera, the OnePlus Ace 3 delivers outstanding imaging performance. With 50MP ultra-high pixels, a large sensor, and OIS, it captures high-quality images in various lighting conditions. The device also includes a 112° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 4cm macro lens, catering to diverse photography needs. Ace 3 inherits the “Ultra-clear image quality algorithm” and “Super light and shadow image algorithm,” incorporating industry-leading multi-frame Raw processing and capture algorithms. It improves pixel accuracy, high dynamic range, and capture effects. The device also supports an ultra-light ProXDR display.
Battery
The battery life of the OnePlus Ace 3 is attributed to its large 5500mAh battery and the longevity version of 100W super flash charging. The SUPERVOOC S full-link power management chip optimizes power consumption, achieving a remarkable 99.5% discharge efficiency. The device supports a new DC architecture, unique in the industry, allowing a full charge in just 27 minutes.
OnePlus Ace 3 features advanced signal engineering to enhance the communication experience. The flagship model’s signal engineering improves Wi-Fi, cellular data, near-field communications, and network performance. The device incorporates the dual gold game antenna 2.0, multi-mode fusion technology, and motherboard-driven antenna technology. Ace 3 addresses lag in weak network environments by supporting a new game cloud computing private network, provided free for 2 years. It dynamically optimizes resources, choosing between “Dual Channel Acceleration” and “QoS Acceleration” for a smoother gaming experience.
Other Features
The OnePlus Buds 3, released simultaneously, offers flagship sound quality with its true wireless noise-canceling headphones. Utilizing ultra-clear coaxial dual units and LHDC 5.0 technology, it achieves Hi-Res high-resolution transmission when paired with OnePlus mobile phones. The OnePlus Buds 3 provides a premium listening experience by incorporating 49dB deep noise reduction, 4000Hz ultra-wideband noise reduction, and intelligent dynamic scene noise reduction. They feature 44 hours of battery life, sliding volume adjustment, seamless device transfer, and IP55 dustproof and waterproof capabilities, distinguishing them in the market.
The OnePlus Ace 3, available in star black and moon sea blue colors starting January 8, and Mingsha gold from January 15, can be pre-ordered on various platforms.
