This significant announcement implies that, by simply downloading the ChatGPT application and selecting the headset icon, users can engage in voice conversations with the AI assistant. Moreover, for a more immersive experience, users can now opt for various male and female voices.
Initially introduced in September of this year, the voice feature was exclusively accessible to Plus and Enterprise users. However, OpenAI has now expanded its availability to cater to a broader spectrum of user requirements. Consequently, users can engage in natural and fluid conversations with ChatGPT through voice, whether they’re casually chatting on the move, narrating bedtime stories to their families, or resolving disputes during dinner. The process is as straightforward as downloading the ChatGPT app and clicking on the headset icon to initiate communication with the AI assistant.

As of December 20, users can freely access the ChatGPT voice functionality.
