Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. has officially announced the approval of its Auto patent for the “Battery and Body Integrated Structure and Vehicle.” According to the summary, the integrated structure comprises a body and a power battery pack, featuring two sill beams spaced apart along the vehicle’s left and right directions. Each sill beam is equipped with a battery pack installation part, ensuring a well-distributed layout.

Xiaomi Auto Battery Patent reveals that it seamlessly integrates the top of the battery pack case with a cross beam, aiming to enhance the overall strength of the case and improve its stiffness as well as performance in transmitting side impact forces. Consequently, the top of the main case functions as a floor panel, contributing to the overall enhancement of the battery pack case’s performance.
Through this integration, the vehicle’s overall structure achieves weight reduction, thereby enhancing its lightweight profile and consequently boosting the vehicle’s cruising range. As power battery technology and new energy vehicle manufacturing techniques continue to evolve, automotive companies are transitioning from CTP (battery large module or module-less technology) to CTC or CTB (battery chassis/body integration technology). This shift reflects advancements in battery installation choices.
CTC, as a battery system technology, realizes the comprehensive integration of batteries, chassis, and the lower body. This streamlined approach simplifies product design and production processes, leading to improved vehicle stiffness, optimized space, and enhanced battery capacity and driving range, all achieved at a reduced cost. Compared to CTP modules technology, CTC notably merges the floor panel and the battery pack upper cover, minimizing the gap between the two and reducing the number of parts required for connection. This streamlining of production steps not only enhances efficiency but also transforms the battery core into both the kinetic energy source for the car and a structural component that enhances the rigidity of the chassis/body.
