Simultaneously with Sam Altman’s departure from OpenAI, the board characterized him as not “sufficiently candid.”

In a blog post, the OpenAI board stated that, through an “intentional review process,” it concluded that Altman had not consistently been forthright in his communication with the board, impeding its ability to fulfill its responsibilities.

According to the board, there is no longer confidence in Altman’s ability to move forward and lead OpenAI.

OpenAI’s board, including independent directors like Chief Scientist Ilya Sutskever, Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo, tech in charge Tasha McCauley, and Helen Toner from the Georgetown Center for Security and be revealed Technology, emphasized its authority to manage all activities of the organization following the provisions of the 501(c)(3) clause. Additionally, the board underscored its commitment to overseeing the organization’s affairs.

The board further announced that Greg Brockman, OpenAI’s President, “will resign as board chair and continue in his role reporting to the CEO.”

Although Altman acknowledged his departure from OpenAI in an article on Friday, he did not refer to any accusations by the company’s board. Sharing a screenshot of his tweet, he expressed his enjoyment of working at the company and hinted at discussing “what happens next.”
