DXOMARK officials reported that the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro achieved a total screen test score of 154, tying for the top spot in DXOMARK’s global rankings. They noted that the Pixel 8 Pro received its highest scores to date in the two critical sub-scores: legibility and color. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 outperformed the Pro in the artifact sub-score.

Both the Google Pixel8 Pro and Pixel 8 stand out as well-rounded phones, delivering excellent screen readability and impressive color rendering in various lighting conditions. The Pixel 8 Pro boasts a higher peak brightness compared to its predecessor and enhanced color and contrast performance, even in challenging outdoor environments with direct sunlight. This device ensures a delightful HDR10 video viewing experience and provides a smooth and responsive touch interface when swiping the screen.

However, the Google Pixel 8 Pro falls short in low-light settings, as it offers slightly insufficient detail in dark areas of the screen. When held with one hand, there is a risk of accidentally touching the frame. Notably, there is noticeable aliasing in video games, and in well-lit environments, the Pixel 8’s screen may exhibit a pink cast near strong light sources.

It has been reported that the Google Pixel 8 Pro features a 6.7-inch OLED direct screen with a resolution of 2992×1344 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, with the capability of adjusting to a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. The global peak brightness reaches 1600 nits, with local peak brightness reaching 2400 nits.
