Today, a well-known digital field blogger, “Digital Chat Station,” unveiled some exciting news about MediaTek’s new flagship SoC, the Dimensity 9300. This SoC has a new prototype frequency of 3.25 GHz± and a CPU configuration featuring 1 X4 core, 3 X4 cores, and 4 A720 cores, while its GPU is the Immortalis G720 MC12.
Regrettably, specific benchmark data for the Dimensity 9300 remains confidential. Nevertheless, the blogger disclosed that in the V10 version of the popular performance testing tool AnTuTu, the Dimensity 9300 is anticipated to outperform the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 in both CPU and GPU performance, with a particular edge in GPU performance. However, the energy consumption performance of this SoC is still a mystery.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 represents a significant milestone as it adopts a full-core architecture design for the first time, featuring 4 Cortex-X4 ultra-large cores. According to information released by Arm, the Cortex-X4 delivers a 15% improvement in performance compared to the Cortex-X3 while reducing power consumption by 40%. As a result, MediaTek expects the Dimensity 9300 to be a strong competitor in terms of performance, positioning it as their most powerful SoC. They will pit it against rivals such as Apple’s A17 Pro and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen3.
The latest updates reveal that vivo’s X100 series will feature the first batch of mobile phones equipped with the Dimensity 9300, with an official release scheduled for November.
