The OnePlus community announced the initiation of internal testing for the ColorOS 14.0 upgrade on the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9 RT. User recruitment for ColorOS 14.0 internal beta log is scheduled from October 7 to October 8, 12:00.

ColorOS 14.0

Before applying for the test, ensure your phone is upgraded to the following versions: version 13.1.0.190 for OnePlus 9/Pro, version 13.1.0.191 for OnePlus 9/Pro/RT, and version 13.1.0.192 for OnePlus 9 RT. Check your version number by going to Settings > About > Version Information > Version Number.

To access the recruitment entrance, follow these steps: Go to “Settings” > “About” > “Version information” at the top (above “model name”) > “Settings” button in the upper right corner > “Early adopter application” > “Upgrade internal beta,” and then proceed as instructed.

Known issues with the current version:

  1. Enabling high-efficiency image storage may cause the camera app to crash when taking photos.
  2. When adjusting the front camera’s beauty effect, the progress bar around the corresponding icon may not update.
  3. In certain situations, the progress bar may disappear while adjusting the beauty effect on the front camera.
  4. The software store application update speed for OnePlus 9 is slow.
  5. OnePlus 9 Pro experiences intermittent charging issues when connected to a wireless base.

Please note:

  • This internal beta version has two versions: the log version and the nolog version. The recruitment for this test specifically involves the log version.
  • Both versions are internal beta releases and may not be as stable as the official version. They may contain some bugs.
  • Before upgrading, back up your important personal data to avoid data loss due to incompatibility or other issues after the upgrade.
  • Some commonly used third-party applications, such as “Cloud QuickPass” and “Sunshine Life,” may not be compatible with Android 14. Exercise caution if you rely on these applications frequently.
  • Within two days after the upgrade, the system will perform various adaptation and optimization actions, which might lead to the phone becoming hot, unresponsive, or having rapid battery drain. It is recommended to turn off the screen and charge for 2 hours before restarting the phone or letting it recover on its own through regular use.
