Dmitry Masyuk, who serves as the director of Yandex’s search and advertising technology business unit, shared that YandexGPT consistently outperforms ChatGPT version 3.5 in generating Russian content. Moreover, it frequently offers superior responses compared to ChatGPT 4.0. Masyuk confidently stated that YandexGPT is poised to compete with its American counterpart, and victory is merely a matter of time.
In addition to surpassing ChatGPT, YandexGPT also outshines Meta Company’s Llama-2-7b by providing superior answers, even in generating English content. Dmitry Masyuk emphasized the company’s commitment to continuously evaluating the technological advancements in their generative AI and ChatGPT.
Comparing these two systems poses a challenge, as each system possesses its own unique strengths and weaknesses. For instance, when considering a neural network’s ability to solve physics problems, craft fairy tales, and compose letters to CEOs, one must weigh their relative strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, the assessment of whether one system is “better” or “worse” hinges on specific use cases and requirements.
Yandex unveiled its comprehensive large model product lineup earlier this year, encompassing chatbots and AI assistants capable of generating, restructuring, or summarizing information from text content, as well as addressing various business-related challenges. In September, the company introduced an upgraded iteration of this large model product, YandexGPT 2, boasting enhanced problem-solving capabilities, increased versatility across different scenarios, and the promise of delivering more precise answers.
