As per the official statement, some users have reported a change in their Chrome browser’s default homepage to Mintnav.com after upgrading to MIUI 14. Xiaomi clarified in the statement that it is not mandating this change but rather linking it to Xiaomi’s collaboration with Mintnav. They emphasized that users can flexibly modify their Chrome browser’s homepage settings according to their preferences to revert to the original settings.

This issue can be traced back to March of this year when users started experiencing it after upgrading to MIUI 14. Currently, this problem has impacted numerous users across various regional versions, including MIUI 14 global and EEA versions. Upon upgrading to these versions, users will observe an automatic change in the default homepage of the Chrome browser to Mintnav.com.

Despite potential confusion and dissatisfaction among users due to this automatic change, Xiaomi’s official statement asserts that this adjustment is part of a cooperative initiative with Mintnav. The statement elucidated the reasons behind the changes and provided guidance on how users can independently modify their browser’s homepage settings. While the statement ruled out the possibility of a virus, it effectively communicated the root cause of the issue and its resolution.
