BMW, a German automaker, will be revealing the “Vision Neue Klasse” electric car concept on September 2, showcasing their upcoming generation of electric vehicles. The chairman of BMW’s management board, Oliver Cipse, stated that the image closely resembles the series production model and will hit the roads shortly. The original Neue Klasse model series, introduced almost six decades ago, brought distinctive design and innovative features, contributing significantly to BMW’s present-day success.
Cipse commented, “The decision to create something entirely new led to decades of sustained BMW success. Now, we are revitalizing that vision – I assure you that the Vision Neue Klasse concept car is almost ready for series production and will be on the roads soon.”
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse represents a new era for BMW’s electric vehicle platform, encompassing multiple models rather than a single car. BMW intends to launch at least six electrified models using this platform within two years of the first model’s debut. Speculations indicate that the initial model on this platform could be an electric version of the 3 Series sedan.
Production of the new model is scheduled to commence in 2025 in Debrecen, Hungary, where BMW is building a factory dedicated to this purpose. Some of the technology showcased in the “I Vision Dee” concept at CES 2023 provides a glimpse of what to expect in the Neue Klasse machines.

The vehicles will utilize new BMW batteries, offering approximately 30% more range per charge than current ones reducing production costs by about 50% and enhancing charging capacity. The energy capacities of the batteries will range from 75 to 150kWh, and the electric motors in the most potent M EVs will deliver between 268 and 1341 horsepower.
