Xiaomi Redmi India has made an official announcement today, revealing that the global debut of the Redmi 12 5G will take place in India on August 1.
In June this year, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 12 mobile phone. It features a 6.79-inch FHD+ resolution LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The front has an 8MP centered single camera. The rear sports a triple camera setup with 50MP+8MP+2MP lenses.
Regarding its hardware, the Redmi 12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 chip, supporting 4G networks only. The device has two variants with 4GB or 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256 GB. It can be expanded via a microSD card. The device also features a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging and side fingerprint recognition. Additionally, it retains the classic 3.5mm headphone jack.
As per the official page information, the Redmi 12 5G shares a striking resemblance in appearance and configuration to the Redmi 12. This includes a 50MP main camera, 8GB+256GB storage combination, and a 5000mAh battery.

Furthermore, according to Geekbench information, the Redmi 12 5G may be equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. However, other differences between the Redmi 12 5G and the Redmi 12, besides the processor, are yet to be officially announced.
In Thailand, the 8GB+128GB version of the Redmi 12 is priced at 5,299 baht (approximately $154). Furthermore, there are rumors that the phone’s listing price in Europe will be around 199 euros (approximately $219).
