In a bid to recapture the market share it lost to competitors like Samsung Electronics, Xiaomi has charted a new course in India. The tech giant plans to focus more on 5G smartphones while Xiaomi Streamline Product Portfolio is in India.

Historically, Xiaomi held a dominant position in the Indian smartphone market but faced setbacks due to regulatory and other challenges. Data from research firm IDC reveals that Xiaomi slipped to the fourth position in the first quarter of 2023, trailing behind Samsung, OPPO, and vivo.

Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India, revealed that Xiaomi Regain Product Portfolio sales by adopting a fresh approach. Instead of heavily relying on online e-commerce as in the past, Xiaomi intends to strengthen its presence in offline channels, mainly through Indian retail stores.

Muralikrishnan B explained, “While we have seen considerable success online, our offline market position has room for improvement. Many of our competitors have flourished offline, boasting a larger market share.”
