Vivo is gearing up for its next-generation image release event in July 2023, and the latest official preview has hinted at exciting product announcements. As per the official spoiler, the highlight of this festival will be the introduction of the cutting-edge self-developed image chip, the V3. The Vivo V3 chip boasts a more comprehensive scene coverage, significantly improving the algorithm’s performance while reducing power consumption.
This Camera chip is the first to utilize Vivo’s self-developed 6nm process. Consequently, phones with this chip will capture 4K movie portrait videos and offer 4K post-shooting editing features.
While specific specifications of the Vivo V3 chip have not been disclosed yet, the details are expected to be unveiled during the upcoming activities.
For reference, Vivo’s previous self-developed chip, the V2, presented a new iterative AI-ISP architecture. The V2 chip also featured enhanced on-chip memory, AI computing capabilities, and image processing.
