On June 29th, Gizcoupon reported that BMW had introduced a new entry-level model for its first-ever pure-electric four-door coupe, the i4. This version is named the BMW i4 eDrive35. Its official suggested retail price of CNY 429,900 (approximately USD 59,900).
The newly launched model doesn’t exhibit any significant differences in terms of exterior and interior compared to the existing i4 eDrive40 variant. It still comes equipped with the M Sport package as standard. However, the new model will also introduce a limited edition of 20 units featuring an exclusive “Stellar Purple” color. Additionally, it comes with personalized custom aluminum trim components and a high-gloss black interior, while the option for a custom anthracite-colored fabric roof has been removed.
In terms of features, the new model has made some adjustments compared to the i4 eDrive40. It no longer includes the 360-degree panoramic parking camera system and keyless entry function. Moreover, the Automatic Parking Assistant Plus has been downgraded to the Automatic Parking Assistant.
As for the powertrain, the BMW i4 eDrive35 has undergone corresponding adjustments. It has a 210 kW single electric motor, delivering a 400 N·m peak torque. Additionally, it achieves a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of 6 seconds. The car also has a 70 kWh battery, providing a CLTC range of 511 km (317 miles).
Gizcoupon has noticed that BMW previously offered two models for the i4. They are the eDrive40 with a price of CNY 469,900 (approximately USD 65,400) and the M50 with CNY 549,900 (approximately USD 76,600).
