On June 19th, Gizcoupon reported that the Tesla Cybertruck is one of the most anticipated electric vehicles of the year. It has approximately 1.5 million pre-orders. The latest official statement from Tesla indicates that the delivery event for this vehicle is planned to take place around the end of the third quarter of 2023, which is roughly September.

Previously, Electrek reported that Tesla asked suppliers to prepare for the launch candidate version of the Cybertruck in late August. Additionally, they will start production in early October. There are several signs that Tesla is making progress in production. For example, some production images of the Texas Gigafactory leaked. Now, there is another positive development. A Tesla Cybertruck prototype has been spotted being unloaded from an airplane and arriving at an airport in New Zealand.

Although the vehicle is covered, it is easily recognizable as the Cybertruck. The appearance of the vehicle in New Zealand is not surprising since Tesla has used local testing grounds in the past for winter vehicle testing. While Tesla primarily utilizes test facilities in Alaska for winter testing, when the Northern Hemisphere experiences summer, Tesla turns to the southern hemisphere and conducts testing in New Zealand. Gizcoupon has noticed that Tesla has already conducted winter testing for the Cybertruck in Alaska. Now this vehicle may undergo final testing in preparation for production. It is expected that the Cybertruck will perform well in snowy and icy conditions. Because of its maximum of four electric drive motors, it provides an all-wheel-drive system and rear-wheel steering capability.
