On June 17th, Gizcoupon reported that the International media outlet Android Authority recently revealed the screen specifications of the Google Pixel 8 series. Both the Google Pixel 8/Pro will feature smaller displays.

The Pixel 8 will boast a refresh rate of 120Hz and a screen size of 6.17 inches, making it smaller than its predecessor, the Pixel 7 (6.31 inches). The resolution will remain unchanged, offering FHD+ (2400×1080). Additionally, the Pixel 8 will support adaptive refresh rates, including 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz.

The screen size of the Pixel 8 Pro will remain the same, but the screen-to-body ratio will increase. Furthermore, the panel size has been reduced by 1 millimeter, resulting in a slightly smaller overall device size. However, the resolution has been lowered to 2992×1344, with a decreased PPI of 490 from the previous 512. The Pixel 8 Pro’s adaptive refresh rate will support 5Hz, 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz.

Moreover, Android Authority reports that the peak brightness of the Pixel 8 will reach 1400 nits, while the Pixel 8 Pro will achieve 1600 nits. This represents an increase compared to the previous generation. The Pixel 7 offers 1000 nits of brightness, and the Pixel 7 Pro reaches 1500 nits.

Gizcoupon also noticed that the camera specifications for the Pixel 8 series were previously exposed. It is said that this year’s Google Pixel 8/Pro will upgrade to the GN2 sensor. It resulted in an approximately 35% increase in light intake compared to the previous generation. This upgrade will provide brighter images, faster shutter speeds, and reduced noise levels.
